Library Hours for Finals Week, Fall 2007

The UT Tyler Robert R. Muntz Library will be offering extended hours during finals. From Sunday December 9 to Tuesday December 11, the library will extend hours until 2:00am. Please note that, starting at 10:00pm on those nights, a security guard will be at the front door checking for valid UT Tyler identification (ID) and notifying students that they will need their id to remain in the building past midnight. Only UT Tyler folks with a valid ID will be allowed to stay in the building past midnight. Anyone without a valid UT Tyler id will be asked to leave the building at that point. Another security guard will be moving throughout the building to ensure that a quiet, safe study environment is preserved. Library Room 401 will be reserved for study groups during this time. It will be available from 8:00pm to 2:00am, Sunday through Tuesday and 8:00pm to midnight, Wednesday and Thursday. While it is a group study room, we will ask groups to be as quiet as possible. Overall, starting at 10:00pm, the entire building should be a quiet area. Finally, please keep in mind that there will be no reference service after midnight. In addition, after midnight the Circulation Department will not provide any monetary transactions. This means that students and other users will not be able to do things like get change or pay fines. However, Circulation will be checking out books and doing other non-monetary transactions. And to keep spirits up, the library will be offering free coffee starting around 7:00pm until about 1:30am during the extended hours.
