Springer and The University of Texas at Tyler Libraries invite faculty to join us for lunch and an interactive presentation to learn about Springer eBook resources available through your library!

During this session, you will learn all about how content from one of the world's largest academic publishers is used at UT Tyler, including:

  • How Springer promotes textbook affordability on campus
  • Research trends among UT Tyler authors who publish with Springer
  • A back-end look at how patrons discover and use content
  • Which resources are available to you
  • A tour of the SpringerLink platform

Reference Librarian Michael Skinner will provide a virtual tour of the UT Tyler Library website. He will provide helpful search tips as well as information about library liaisons, research guides and more!

eBooks on Demand

The Library is trialing a new eBook service! eBooks on Demand allows you to browse through several thousand titles available from publishers and borrow them for brief periods of time.

What does this mean for you?

  • Direct input: The books you view directly contribute to library purchases.
  • Continuous updates: We’ll load new records on a regular basis, ensuring that you constantly have access to updated, current information.
  • No waiting: Unlimited, simultaneous access means that you won’t have to wait or get locked out of books.

How to access & use:

The Library's Collection

The Robert R. Muntz Library has more than 180,000 books, subscriptions to more than 500 print journals, and provides access to more than 75,000 e-jounals and more than 165,000 eBooks. For more information about the library's collection, please take a look at the Library Collections page.

The library catalog provides access to thousands of electronic books (e-books). Search the library catalog. If one of the books in the results list is an e-book, click on “URL” in the record. If you are on-campus, the book will open automatically. If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to enter your Patriot name and password before viewing the book. Some e-books allow you to download pdf copies to your personal computer or USB drive. For assistance viewing e-books, contact a librarian at: (903) 566-7343 or
