Muntz Library Staff are excited about existing and upcoming displays and events! The highlight for the month of April is National Library Week (April 13-19) and we are celebrating in style! Look for our poster display featuring your Muntz Library Librarians!
The Prijedor: Lives from the Bosnian Genocide Exhibit continues. This exhibit will be housed at the library until April 7th.
Another event, that promises to be a world of fun is, World Book Night. On April 23rd, library staff will be giving out books at random!
You will not want to miss the "Peeps" Diorama Contest in honor of William Shakespeare's birthday. Participants will be able to represent their favorite work of Shakespeare - or any other literary favorite using Peeps as their art medium. The first 10 participants to sign up will receive a free box of peeps! Please resist the urge to eat them! Four prizes will be given! We have shoe boxes available on a "first come, first served" basis.
April is also poetry month. There will be a display on the 3rd floor table with related books and information.
A display featuring Pulitzer' Prize Winners will be presented on the second floor of the library.
A display featuring the Red River Campaign will be showcased on the 3rd floor of the library. The Red River Campaign or Red River Expedition was a Union initiative involving a series of battles fought along the Red River in Louisiana during the American Civil War from March 10 to May 22, 1864.
Preservation Week is a special library event celebrated on a national level. This event will take place from April 27th through May 3rd. More details will be given at a later date.
We hope you will be able to view or participate in some of the really great things that are happening at the library this month.
