Love Your Library

As an essential academic unit, The Robert R. Muntz Library serves as a center for the discovery, exchange and advancement of ideas. As such, the Library provides access to a variety of electronic and print resources. Students utilize the library’s collections for research and study. The Library is also a meeting place for collaboration among students or quiet reflection. Your gift can assist the library to achieve its goals of all these things in a variety of ways.

Gifts honoring a friend or relative:

A gift may be made in memory or in honor of a friend or relative. The honoree’s name will be noted on the bookplate of the selected book, and the honoree will receive notification of the gift. If a donation is not designated to be used for a specific honoree, then the funds will go into a general library fund and will be used for library materials and resources.

Donations of Books and other materials:

The Robert R. Muntz Library welcomes the gift of books and other materials in support of the teaching, research, and service missions of the University. We reserve the right to decline gifts if they duplicate existing holdings, if the subject matter is outside the scope of the library’s collections, or if there are donor restrictions that we cannot honor. Donated materials become the sole property of the library without restriction to use or disposition. See: Guidelines for Accepting Gifts and Donations.

Archives/Special Collections:

The Library encourages inquiries from prospective donors concerning contributions of books and materials of historic interest to the University of Texas and the surrounding community. See: University of Texas at Tyler University Archives for more information regarding the Archives and Special Collections department of the Robert R. Muntz Library.

Enhancement of the Building & Physical facilities:

A gift may be made to support the costs of renovating the Library facilities. A gift to purchase a major item of equipment or furnishings will be recognized with a plaque on or near the item, as feasible.

Need an Idea?

Perhaps you would like to make a purchase for the library rather than make a monetary donation but aren't sure what options you have. The library has put together a list of funding opportunities, a wish list of resources that would benefit our campus.

To make a tax deductible donation to the Library, including memorial and honor gifts for a relative or friend, please contact University Advancement.
