2009 Pulitzer Prizes Announced

pulitzer_logoThe 2009 Pulitzer Prizes have been announced. You can get a full list of the winners and nominees from the Pulitzer Prize official website here. The New York Times reports on the Pulitzers for letters, drama and music here. The Times also has some other stories related to other prize categories that may be of interest to some readers. The library has the following titles from the list. All books located in the third floor stacks unless otherwise noted:
  • The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family by Annette Gordon-Reed (E332.74 .G67 2008). Winner of the Pulitzer for History.
  • The Republic of Suffering: Death and the American Civil War by Drew Gilpin Faust (E468.9 .F385 2008). Finalist for the Pulitzer in History.
  • The Bin Ladens: An Arabian Family in the American Century by Steve Coll (CS1129 .B552 2008). Finalist for the Pulitzer in Biography or Autobiography. This one is located in the Bestseller Collection in the second floor.
  • Gandhi and Churchill: The Epic Rivalry That Destroyed an Empire and Forged Our Age by Arthur Herman (DA47.9 .I4 H47 2008). Finalist for the Pulitzer in General Nonfiction. This one is located in the Bestseller Collection in the second floor.
